4 ways to connect with other students online

Meeting new people is undoubtedly one of the biggest parts of university life, and that doesn’t have to change just because we’re in lockdown.  There are plenty of ways you can connect with other students at Trent online. Here are just some of them.

Join a society

NTSU’s societies bring together students with similar interests and we have over 130 of them. They range astronomy to sign language, and while they aren’t hosting activity on campus right now, they are running all kinds of online events and activities you can take part in. You can find a full A-Z list of societies and sign up here from August onwards.

Join our Freshers’ Facebook Group

Our Freshers’ Facebook Group is another great place to connect with fellow Nottingham Freshers. It’s also the only Facebook Group where you can find news and updates about official Nottingham Trent Freshers events. We don’t know exactly what Freshers’ Week will look like just yet but joining the group means you’ll be the first to find out once we release our event details.

Find your flatmates

If you’re hoping to move into halls in September, there are Facebook Groups for each hall to help you find out who you’ll be sharing them with. Head to the Students’ Union website for a full list of accommodation groups.

Get involved in a GIAG activity

Our Give it a Go (GIAG) programme gives you the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities without a long-term commitment. Crafts, society takeovers and virtual trips and tours are just some of what you can enjoy. Join our Coronavirus Facebook Group to keep up to date with all the latest GIAG opportunities you can get involved in alongside your fellow students.
