Nottingham Freshers’ Week FAQs
Welcome to the official Nottingham Trent University Freshers’ Week
When is Nottingham Freshers’ Week?
The official Nottingham Trent Freshers’ Week starts on Friday 25th Sept and finishes on Sunday 4th October.
It is packed full of events and activities that will help you meet lots of new friends and make your first week at Nottingham Trent a memorable one.
Where can I buy event tickets?
Event tickets are currently available on general sale here.
Event capacity is limited, and several events have already sold out. Therefore, we recommend booking events early to avoid disappointment.
ANY TICKETS OR WRISTBANDS ON SALE ELSEWHERE ARE NOT FOR OFFICIAL NOTTINGHAM TRENT FRESHERS EVENTS.
What can I expect from the Freshers’ Fairs?
The Freshers’ Fairs take place across all three campuses and bring together NTSU’s societies, NTU’s sports clubs and some of the city’s most popular businesses and venues under one roof. You can join clubs and societies, get access to exclusive discounts and freebies and find out more about what student life has to offer here in Nottingham.
I don’t drink or enjoy big club nights, can I still get involved in Freshers’ Week?
Absolutely. There are a range of smaller events, day and night, and plenty of non-drinking events throughout Freshers’ Week and beyond. From meet and greets and quizzes to clothing sales, there’ll be lots to get involved in whether you drink or not.
Do I have to be 18 to take part?
It depends on which events you want to attend. If alcohol is being consumed, yes, you’ll need to be 18 and bring ID with you to prove it. Otherwise, you’re free to attend as many events as you like regardless of your age.
I have accessibility needs. Can I still come to the events?
Of course. Simply let us know in advance of the event and we’ll make arrangements to accommodate you. Our Freshers’ Fairs offer priority entry for people with accessibility requirements at the start of the day, so we recommend you visit them early.
Can I only attend the events on my campus?
No, you’re welcome to come to any of the Freshers’ Week events at City, Clifton or Brack no matter where you’re studying. The No. 4 bus runs from City to Clifton and the No. 26 runs from City to Brackenhurst. Bus times can be found here.
How do I meet people in my halls?
You will have lots of opportunities to meet people and make friends during Freshers’ Week. But if you would like to get a head start join the Facebook group for your hall and say hi to the people you will be sharing your accommodation with.
If I’m struggling to settle in, is there somewhere I can go for advice?
We understand that starting at university is exciting and daunting, and you’ll have loads of questions you need answers to. Our Freshers blog is a great source of information for new students. It covers what you’ll need to bring with you and has advice from previous students, so you’ll find lots of helpful info on there.
Our Information and Advice Service offers free, impartial advice on everything from finance to mental health. They’re here to support you during Freshers’ Week and beyond, whatever you’re struggling with.
If you have a question that isn’t answered on this website, send us a message on social media and we’ll get back to you.
