Looking for something to keep you entertained between lectures? Podcasts are the perfect solution. From the educational to the downright hilarious, there’s one for pretty much every interest. Here are some of the ones you might find useful as a new student.  

For your wellbeing 

Mindfulness in 8 weeks – this podcast follows an 8-week plan that’s designed to make meditation a part of your daily routine. Meditation is a great way to deal with the stresses of everyday student life and it’ll come in extra handy when exam season eventually comes around!  

For motivation 

Tiny leaps, big changes – this personal development podcast (as its title suggests) looks at the little things you can do every day that will make a big difference to your life. You might still have a few years of university ahead of you but it’s never too early to start building your future. 

For current affairs 

The Daily – The New York Times set up The Daily as a way to keep you up to date with current affairs on the go. They release new episodes at 6am, 5 days a week so you never have to miss out on the latest news from around the world.  

For inspiration 

Chasers – if there’s something holding you back from pursuing your passion, this podcast is for you. It explores millennials, the dreams they’re chasing and the obstacles in their way in the hope of inspiring listeners to overcome theirs.  

For learning 

Stuff you should know – this one does what is says on the tin – teaches you about important events, theories and concepts in bite-sized episodes that make them easy to understand. A great one to download if general knowledge isn’t your strong suit.
